Current Report:
Hello Fishermen , I fished the Smith River just before the last big storms with Larry and Mark of San Jose. Mark hooked and landed a 9 pounder, while Larry landed a 10-Ĺ pounder. We saw a few other fish caught that same day as we are now seeing more Steelhead entering the system . Several Adult hook-ups per rod will soon be the norm. Its time to book your trip for Jan. to insure you get the dates you want. Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, Saturday I fished the Chetco River with Tony and Gail. The water conditions were low and clear. The day started out with four half pounders hooked. It all changed when Tony hooked a large Steelhead, estimated after seeing it, to be at least 17 lbs. We hooked the fish in very shallow water, and as goes, the fish rolled several times and came unbutton. Shortly after Tony hooked another linerippen 12 lb Steelhead that gave him quite a fight, before it was eventually boated. With the coming rains the Steelhead fishing will only get better. Book your fishing trip now to reserve your days on the river. For information call me anytime at 530-320-4669 Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, Saturday I fished the Smith River with Jay and his son Keith. The water conditions were great on this day for side drifting for Steelhead. We also did some back bouncing for Salmon. We hooked and landed three fish. Keith caught a chrome bright 11 lb Steelhead and Jay boated a Salmon, plus a small steelie. There still seems to be a few Salmon left in the system, which is normal for this time of year; December typically marks the end of the Salmon run. As soon as we receive a sufficient amount of rain, along with it will come the Steelhead. Book your trip now to reserve the dates you want. Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fisherman, The Smith and Chetco Rivers Have received a large amount of rain, in fact they both blew out. The good news is that they are both dropping and will be in great shape to fish in a day or two. Remember the Chetco always comes in a few days behind the Smith . So plan your fishing trip accordingly . Now is the time to book your future Steelhead fishing trip. Call or book on line. 530- 320- 2680 Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, Donít be discouraged just because the Salmon arenít here in good numbers yet. The Smith River is a great fishery, but remember it takes rain and cooler water temperatures to bring in larger runs. We are expected to get some rain this week and that will greatly help add to the numbers that we are seeing now. Hang in their it wonít be long. Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, Thanks to all of you that fished with me last year. The Smith river has received some much needed rain the past few days. If this rain keeps up it looks like we will be off to a good season. Now is the time to book your fishing trip on the Smith for Steelhead fishing. The best time to fish for the Steelhead is usually the middle of Dec. through March, with Jan. and Feb being peak season. Looking forward to fishing with you this year. Watch for my reports. Thanks, Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, Good news for March!!! The rivers have been on the rise with all the rain we have been receiving lately, bringing with it a steady trickle of fresh fish. It is not uncommon for the Smith and Chetco Rivers to have fresh fish in them through April. The higher water has also sent some down runners on their journey back to the sea. They put up a great fight and are fun to catch. We are looking forward to several more weeks of good fishing. We'll be out on the river this weekend. Talk at ya later, Randy

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, sorry about no fishing reports. It's been very good, with two very large fish going home and on the wall. Right now you need to fish only the fast water and the lay up spots. Do you know what I mean? Well that would be the top of a Rip. Well I need to get ready for three boats going out tomorrow. So I will say until next report tight lines. Randy

Date: Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 16:19:43
Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, The Smith River is still producing nice Steelhead, even though we are fishing under low water conditions. The river pressure is light which enables us to sidedrift or pull plugs where the fish should be. This last trip we hooked 4 and landed 3 adult Steelhead. We fished the Chetco this week also with low and clear water, and hooked 2 landing 2. Thursday we went fun fishing on the Rogue River,It still had some color to it. We hooked 4 adult Steelhead and boated 3,from Quosatana to Lobster Creek. We do need some rain to help the rivers, but those of us out there on the river are still catching fish. If any of you know of a good rain dance send it up. See ya soon, Randy 530-320-4669

Current Report:
Hello Fishermen, No tee-shirts today, maybe after 2pm!!! The good news is the fishing remains excellent on both the Smith and Chetco Rivers. At this time the Chetco has a little more color to the water than the Smith. The Smith is at 9 feet in jed park and dropping slowly. If you are coming up to fish with your own boat, try to stay off the fish,by staying to the side of the river in most places; otherwise, the fish will spook. The last two trips we hooked four adult fish on the smith and six on the Chetco. Lets go fishing!!! Give me a call at 530-320-4669. Randy
